EES

EES (= electronics, development, service) was set up by Dipl. Ing. Thomas Wieschiolek in Mölln in 1983.

At the beginning of his professional job the company founder had been active as a service leader for Europe at
an American manufacturer for electronic organs and after that he had worked as a development leader for a
German organ manufacturer. The employees of the company set up newly were also "musically handicapped"
from their former jobs and so music was predetermined as the main emphasis of activity.

At first the field of activity of the young company confined itself to service, repairs and modifications of
electronic musical instruments in the complete northern German room.

But the arising of MIDI at this time was the turning point for EES to the developing and production company in
the way it is existing today.

EES developed MIDI refittings (installation kits) for electronic organs which could be installed without additional
contacts into a great variety of such instruments.

The number of MIDI refittings were refined continuously and through the years a lot of EES MIDI kits were
installed into "old" electronic musical instruments like organs, synthesizers , drummachines or light control
equipments and "kept them alive".

Because of the successful business development very good contacts arose to big well-known organ
manufacturers and software houses which engaged EES to do the development and production of their
products. EES developed and produced the devices by using most modern manufacturing technologies
equipment. And these products reached the market under the trademark of the respective customer.

But also the development of EES devices was going on permanently . Wishes and suggestions of customers
were taken up and from this the development of add-on equipments for organs, keyboards etc. followed
(e.g. EES M3 Transposer). These tools could compensate the weak points of these instruments or made a
more effective use of equipment possible. Today many of those EES tools have already attained cult status:
MKC102, MIDI CV7, M2C, MCS8.

In the course of this time the use of computers gained in importance in the area of music. After even then EES
had developed and produced interfaces for the Commodore C64 and the Atari now an external MIDI interface
for PC and laptop computer followed. This interface EES PC MIDI 1/4 was still designed for the parallel port.
But because of its great success it was constantly developed and it is still existing today as EES PC MIDI ST.

This growing meaning of computers and the increase of music software still granted EES another field of
activity. Already since the end of the eighties (at that time only for Atari) EES developed copy protection keys
in cooperation with leading software houses which should prevent copying software illegitimately. These
products too were and are produced today ( in the meantime by the most modern SMD production
engineering ) in the house of EES.

On the highlight of the successful development EES was shaken in its foundations when the owner of the
company Thomas Wieschiolek died in August 2000 at the age of only 47 years of a pernicious illness.
EES lost its founder and the most creative head who was called meanwhile the "Pope of MIDI"
by Germany' s experts.

Since then the team of EES is carrying on his lifework successfully under the leading of his wife as manager.

EES is still executing own devices and job developments and is producing equipment which is sold under the
name of its own or under the label of the customers.

Single and special models (e.g. for theater productions) are executed with the same energy and precision as
jobs which result the production of a large number of pieces.

Development and production by using the latest techniques on our own are guaranteeing flexibility with regard
to the wishes of our customers.

In future too we will be an innovative and reliable partner of our customers!
